My Dear Students

Let me start my message to you with a story
which is my favorite
There were two woodcutters, who one unfortunate morning found
them out of job.
As they were colleagues at the same place they decided to hunt
for new job together.
Their effort to seek employment took them to one Seth who was
in the business of tree felling and selling timber.
The Seth took pity on the two friends and took them to a cluster
of tree and told them, “Here are the trees that need to
be cut. Let me see how many of these you can fell by the evening”.
“The one who fells more gets the job.” And saying
so he went away.
Both the friends started ardently on the job. One of them after
felling one tree excused himself & went away. The other
friend continued with his task and was happy that he has a great
chance to get the coveted job. By lunch he had felled more than
10 trees and the other friend still had not come back.
At last, an hour after the lunch, the other friend appeared
and started felling the trees.
By evening the first one (who was cutting the tree all day long)
when counted found that he had cut only 22 trees where as the
other person who had gone away for a while, had felled 32 trees,
and got the job.
When asked by the first friend how he managed to cut more trees
in spite of putting so less labour, the second friend replied,
“oh my disappearance was because I went to the blacksmith
to sharpen my axe and so I could fell more trees as I needed
lesser number of blows to fell each tree”.
The moral of the story, my dear students, is that you have got
one last chance to sharpen your axe.
Education is shaping your axe and through this sharpened axe
(your knowledge) I am sure you will fell many trees as you tread
in the corporate world to carve a road that leads to success.
