Weavers Service Center
A
visit to "WEAVERS' SERVICE CENTER", Government of India
undertaking was conducted on 3rd and 4th June,'09. The facilities
include an excellent Dyeing Laboratory, Design Section, Weaving
Section, Printing Section, Photography Section, Library and Documentation
Section and Computer Aided Textile Design Section for sample development,
training and expert guidance.
The industrial visit focused on the management & coordination
of the various sections with each other. Students were able to
see the various stages of management. Firstly, how they plan according
to their purpose, secondly how they organize the raw material,
thirdly how they staff or appoint the right persons on the right
job, fourthly, how the director guides the subordinates on the
right track and fifthly how they control and check the desired
objectives according to the planned ones.
Overall the visit brought out the importance of skills, talents,
craftsmanship, leadership qualities and team work involved in
a traditional industry.

BISLERI Pvt.Ltd.
The
Indian consumer today enjoys the sweet and pure taste of Bisleri
mineral water. So IILM BS, Mumbai campus decided to conduct an INDUSTRIAL
VISIT to BISLERI Pvt.Ltd. on 10th February,'09.The visit was very
informative to the management students. Students got information
about BISLERI purification process.
Good Manufacturing Practices were introduced to the students. Above
all the visit focused on the principles and values such as Integrity,
Leadership, Teamwork, Co-operation, Quality, Passion, Openness &
Transparency of BISLERI Pvt. Ltd.

PARLE PRODUCTS PVT. LTD.
As
the part of Industry Interface, the students of IILM BS, Mumbai
campus visited one of India's most popular Biscuits and Confectionery
Company - PARLE PRODUCTS PVT.LTD. on 27th JANUARY ,'09.
The visit started with an informative documentary movie followed
by the plant visit and ended with an interactive discussion with
the Production Officer. The focus during the entire plant tour included
all the different stages of biscuit production from husking the
wheat, melting the sugar, mixing of ingredients, to cutting them
into required shapes, thereafter baking them into oven and then
sending them for packing, to delivering the final products to the
supermarkets and store shelves nationwide. Hygiene is the precursor
to every process at Parle thus, ensuring total hygiene and purity
of product. Knowledge was also imparted on the various toffee brands
of Parle.

THE ORCHID-AN ECOTEL HOTEL
A
visit to THE ORCHID-AN ECOTEL was conducted on 1st April,'09. It
is Asia's first certified eco-friendly five-star hotel and world's
only Ecotel to be certified as ISO 14001.
The visit proved to be a boon to management students as students
got to learn about the significance of being eco-friendly. The visit
helped to understand environment management
Overall the visit brought about the importance of The ORCHID-AN
ECOTEL hotel which is committed to enhancing the guest, experience
while setting a new standard of environmental responsibility, by
conserving natural resources, educating, enlightening and motivating
the staff and cultivating community relationships.
