With their pedagogy, the faculty members ensure that students learn to formulate strategies but with an eye for detail to make it happen. The faculty members' teaching methodology helps students enhance the much needed people skills to save them from becoming a solo genius. Their unique teaching methodology is a great combination of classroom lecture, case studies, experiential learning, group projects and study groups.

Lectures that enlighten

Lectures at IILM Business School are basically restricted to provide students with insight into the theoretical and conceptual aspect of management sciences. The faculty members believe that students get very limited opportunities to gain theoretical and conceptual explanations in the industry, therefore, it becomes important for them to learn it during their academics.

Industry-Interface Cell

Considering the importance of interaction with the industry and corporate, the faculty members at IILM Business School have formed the Corporate Resource Interface Cell (CRIC) which creates an interface with the industry and responsible for providing a platform for interaction between students and managers in the industry. The prime objectives of CRIC are
to:
Maintain regular interaction with the industry and organize industrial training, visits, guest lectures, workshops and seminars to broaden the exposure of students.
Provide requisite knowledge in areas of personality mapping and communication skills.

Revise curriculum as per changing business requirements.

Organize inter-cultural exchange with other institutions.

Identify organizations where consultancy assignments can be taken up.

Case Studies: The practical angle

Unlike traditional lecture-based teaching where student participation in the classroom is minimal, the case method is an active learning method, which requires participation and involvement from students in the classroom. For students who have been exposed only to the traditional teaching methods, this calls for a major change in their approach to learning.

At IILM Business School, the faculty members assign case studies to students ahead of time to allow them to have a chance to read through the materials and be prepared with their analyses for the class discussion. The faculty members then lead the class discussion and encourage debates between students.

Experiential Learning
The faculty members also give emphasis on experiential learning through involving students to apply theoretical knowledge to a real-world business problem. Experiential learning gives students a "nuts- and- bolts" training approach to management sciences.

Student Study Groups
The faculty members also encourage students to form study groups wherein students take up the roles of bankers, accountants, engineers, etc. to discuss certain projects and methods of solving real life business problems.

Instructive Seminars and Workshops
Quality, service and reliability are the mottos of IILM Business School and to achieve the same, the faculty members regularly undertake corporate seminars. The school also organizes workshops that help students assimilate the theoretical concepts learnt by putting them to use in simulated managerial environments. Some of the workshops conducted include.

  • Time Management
  • How to cope up with stress
