Academic Council
Leading edge academic learning is at the core of IILM BS's program. The Academic Council is the student body's voice in all matters pertaining to academics. It is a manifestation of IILM BS 's desire to treat its students as partners. The Council comprises five energetic members who are elected by the students. The Council is responsible for conducting a smooth bidding process for choosing electives in the second year, and handling all other issues concerning academics. The Council works as the interface between the faculty and the students for all courses.

Cultural Committee
The Cultural Committee organizes and arranges all cultural activities in IILM BS. Be it the movie shows or the amazing parties, the Cultural Committee does it all. It has a number of subcommittees that are formed for special activities (music, drama, literary etc). The Cultural Committee ensures that IILM BS has its fair share of fun!

FCII (Forum for Corporate Industrial Interface)
IILM BS is a center for developing managerial excellence that prepares managers to take on the challenges of tomorrow. To do so, IILM BS nurtures academic talent in the field of management and works closely with the industry and government.

We instituted a forum to further encourage an exchange of ideas among students, academics, government and industry - The Forum for Corporate Industrial Interaction. We believe that the academia, government and industry must interact closely and learn from each other. The FCII organizes regular seminars and talks by inviting eminent people from the industry and the government with a view to create an atmosphere of learning beyond the academic curriculum. The attempt is to make the institute more industry focused and to better prepare potential managers to face contemporary concerns in the corporate world.

The talks, in addition to serving as a great source of learning for the students, also help in brining the institute closer to specific companies. The Forum attempts to help enhance the visibility of the companies on campus as well as of the institute in the industry.

The Forum, on a routine basis organizes
  • Workshops on specific business management issues
  • Panel discussions on contemporary management and technology issues
  • Informal chat sessions with industry leaders
  • Formal dinners with focused group discussions
  • Corporate leadership series
  • IILM BS invitation Seminar
  • Hard talks-debates on controversial issues
  • Seminars and talks by functional managers and area experts
The FCII is committed to helping students of IILM BS leverage on the resources of this institute in order to discuss, meet and network with people who make a difference - a difference in their own fields, a difference which affects us all and the future of management practices. The FCII forms that vital link between the world outside and that within the Institute premise.

The FCII works closely with the other student clubs to ensure cross leverage and minimize overlap. The Forum is elected by the representatives of the student body, and comprises of six permanent members and volunteers during this and other events requiring larger scale preparation. All other inquiries can be forwarded to fcii@iilm.edu.in

MAC (The Marketing Club)
The Marketing Club of IILM BS is a student run club with a focus on marketing and related disciplines.

Our main emphasis is on trying to give all those interested in marketing, actual industry exposure by organizing talks, panels, workshops, case competitions etc.

The club is mainly involved in hosting marketing related activities, which supplement the academic courses.

Since the club is student driven the initiatives that are taken are tailored to the specific needs and interests of students.

We organize workshops on Brand management, Sales and Distribution, etc., which are conducted by executives. Case competitions are also organized, which are conducted by companies.

These activities are interspersed with events like Ad Mad, Treasure Hunt etc. We also host a number of marketing related activities in the annual cultural festival.

FIC (The Finance Club)
FIC, the finance club at IILM BS, functions as the interface between the student community and the financial world viz. financial institutions, regulatory bodies and the academia. It enables synergistic interactions among a strong student-member community, coupled with valuable input from the faculty, the academia and representatives from the industry.

Activities that FIC is involved in
  • Industry sponsored workshops relating to contemporary issues. Among those organized in the past, was a detailed workshop on Structured Finance organized by the ICICI Structured Products Group
  • Case competitions organized amongst members of the student community, on behalf of the industry. Brainstorming sessions on solutions to these case studies (sometimes pertaining to problems firms face in the real world) have proved to be of immense value to the firms that participated in the program in the past.
  • Conduct simulation games that are a proxy for investor behavior in the real world. We strive for constant innovation as in this lies the key to active participation and value addition among member participants
  • The list of invitee speakers in the past, as the weekly invitation lectures is a veritable who's who of the financial world. o
  • We support an e-groups bulletin board and discussion forum whereby a community of members that exchange finance related ideas and issues has developed and is growing rapidly
  • We help forge relationships with the industry whereby industry representatives hold round table interactive discussions with the student community.
  • In addition to all of the above, we organize quizzes and short duration courses that supplement the existing rigorous curriculum at IILM BS
Placement Cell
Each year eight students are elected to the Placement Committee. They are actively involved in all placement-related activities in IILM BS and coordinate with the Placement Office as well as the various organizations that recruit at IILM BS.

SCC (Students Cultural Cell)
At IILM BS, we tend to believe that the educational experience is very different from anything else that most of us have gone through before. This is primarily because for most of us, it happens to be the terminal point of education before we take on the rest of the world. For this very reason the focus is heavily on learning "skills"- something that can be done best in the flexible environment. That is exactly where the Academic Council comes into the picture. Since students are the stakeholders of education who are affected most by it, the Academic Council has the responsibility to present the students' point of view in all matters pertaining to academics. The idea is to form the link between the students and the faculty - a links that should be trusted by both. The end objective of course, is to foster a healthy academic atmosphere where the quality of education is always on the rise.

Some of the actual work we do involves working on new electives, scheduling of electives, bidding for electives (an online bidding mechanism is in place to help decide the students who take up any course that has limited availability), arranging for workshops, maintaining Quality Assurance Groups, arranging Guest Faculty, representing the students at appropriate forums etc.

The body consists of four members including one Academic Secretary, all of who are elected along with the other members of the Students Affairs Council. The committee currently comprises Pooja Srivastava (Acad Secy), Mamata Aggarwal, Prasant Chaudhary, and Jogesh Sahu.

ITC (The Information Technology Club)
ITC ensures Student-Industry interaction by arranging expert talks and trips to IT exhibitions and symposia; and provides systems support during various event.

ITC with its commitment to the management of Information Systems has a very important role to play. The role of ITC today is to ensure Student-industry interaction by arranging expert talks and trips to IT exhibitions and symposia; to provide systems support during Placements and to the other club, activities. For example, the ITC developed an on-line trading system for the finance club as part of the stock exchange game.

PRAKASH (Social Service Org.)
IILM BS recognizes its social responsibility and is always eager to contribute towards the betterment of the society. PRAKASH is a voluntary student body that tries to make a difference to society. It undertakes a host of social initiatives, which include organizing outings for spastic children, arranging blood donation camps and conducting fund raising activities.
